I was surprised by how bland the food was. Indian cuisine is usually known for its rich flavors and spices, but almost every dish we tried the cauliflower appetizer, chicken appetizer, corn Manchurian, and biryani lacked taste. The mutton was the only dish that was slightly better, but still nothing memorable. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the flavorful Indian food I was expecting.

Visited Desi Chowrastha in Naperville and had an amazing experience. The menu has a great variety of authentic desi street food and everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. The Hakka noodles were packed with flavor, Chicken 65 was crispy and spicy just right, and the Chicken Tikka Frankie was delicious. The pani puri was refreshing and full of taste, while the fish pakoda was perfectly cooked. Their chai and desserts, especially the rasmalai and fruit custard with ice cream, were a perfect ending to the meal. Loved the vibrant desi atmosphere and the wide selection of food options. Definitely a great spot for street food lovers in the Naperville area. Looking forward to visiting again with family and friends.

⭐️ I visited Desi Chowrasta last week, and honestly, I’m very disappointed with how much the place has changed. This was my third visit, and compared to before, the food quality has gone down significantly. The taste that made us keep coming back is simply not there anymore. On top of that, they have reduced both the quantity and the quality of the food. The prices here are already higher compared to many other similar places, but we never minded paying extra because the food used to taste really good. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case. After this experience, this will probably be my last visit. The service was even more disappointing than the food. The lady serving at the dosa counter had very rude behavior and showed no politeness or courtesy toward customers. Good customer service is very important, especially in a busy restaurant, but the staff attitude here made the experience unpleasant. One of the main reasons we visit this place is for their ginger chutney, which we really like. We went there around 11AM, shortly after they opened, and when we asked for ginger chutney, they casually said it was out of stock. It was surprising because the restaurant had just open

Have been to this restaurant x number of times, the food is either a hit or miss that’s what it has become lately, such disappointment. But based on the frequent Observation they don’t seem to serve fresh food, the containers have little warm/cold food even after taking 30 mins sometimes to get the dish and that’s cold. Chowrastha is no longer maintaining the quality. Paying for the food that’s refrigerated and warmed and most times it’s not even warmed at the required temperature and served cold, forget about serving hot at this place.

Visited Desi Chowrastha in Naperville for dinner recently and this was our first time trying the place. The restaurant has a nice desi street-food style menu with lots of options including biryanis, chaat items, and traditional drinks like chai and fresh juices. We ordered the goat dum biryani, chicken fry, poori chole, samosas, masala chai, and sugarcane juice. Overall, everything tasted decent and flavorful. The goat dum biryani had good aroma and spices, but it felt slightly cold when served, which took away a bit from the experience. The chicken fry was tasty with nice flavor, though it also felt a little cold. The poori chole was good and satisfying, and the masala chai was really nice, especially if you enjoy authentic desi-style tea. The highlight for us was definitely the samosas — very good and served with green chillies, which added a great touch. The sugarcane juice was refreshing and paired well with the meal. Overall, a good first experience with solid flavors. With a little improvement in serving temperature, the experience would be even better. Would come back to try more items from their menu next time. 👍
